"Wish Machine"

2009

materials: wood, paint, hand-blown glass, fans, seeds of 1 (one) dandelion

18"x18"x42"

The seeds of one (1) dandelion are contained in a hand-blown glass cloche, displayed on a pedestal. Viewers are able to press a button in front of the dome, which turns on fans concealed in the pedestal, blowing the dandelion seeds around inside the glass. Thanks to the machine, viewers are able to wish over and over again on the dandelion, safe from its subversive inclinations to populate domestic exteriors.
